Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Quila, is a magnificent fortress located in the city of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the largest forts in the world. Built-in the 12th century, the fort stands tall amidst the Thar desert and is made entirely of yellow sandstone, which gives it a golden hue. The fort houses several temples, palaces, and havelis (traditional Indian mansions), which are a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan.
