Manikarnika Ghat is one of the holiest cremation places among the sacred riverfronts (ghats) found on the Ganges in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. In Hinduism, death is regarded as a portal to another life marked by the outcome of one's karma. It is considered that the soul of a human attains moksha, and hence breaks the cycle of rebirth when cremated here.
