Munnar, a well-known hill station in south India, is a romantic destination with plenty of natural beauty to visit, discover, and enjoy. Munnar is located at the confluence of three mountain streams - Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala - thus the word 'Munnar' in Malayalam means "three rivers." The hill station, located around 1600m above sea level, served as the British Government's summer retreat during the colonial era. English country cottages and virgin forests, savannah, undulating hills, picturesque valleys, numerous streams, large splashy waterfalls... are all remnants of Munnar's colonial heritage.
